In the biggest single instance of corporate stupidity I've ever experienced (personally ) my company's IT department has decided to use a Group Policy to disable the "Reply To All" funciton in outlook. (Apparently due to some users inability to distinguish it from "Reply").Is there any way to override this and re-enable it on a specific machine/installation?Thanks!

if they have it scripted so that the GP gets pushed down everytime you log into the machine, then unfortunately, no. Are you an administrator on the PC? if it's not pushed down at login and you are an administrator you should be able to pull the Console snapin and Hack the GP. You would probably need to know what "Office Admin GP" template they used and may need to import it locally. One other point to consider is if the Exchange admin limited the number of users that were allowed to be replied to. Exchange admins have that ability IIRC. Why in the hell would they take out the "Reply to All"?This is why companies need to stop hiring Friggin "Paper Tiger" admins. There is nothing I hate more than People that get their Certs from the Boot Camp tech schools. Then get jobs with no Real World Experiance.Sorry for the rant.
Thanks for the info. They are probably pushing it at login, but on the off chance they aren't can you point me to some info on using the Console as you mentioned? (I do have admin priveleges, thank goodness)

That has got to be one of the more unusual policies I've heard of. The only logical reason I can think of for deploying that would be to cover your (removed) in case you want to send a sarcastic reply to someone. It avoids you accidentally replying to all. I know in my organization, removal of that feature would result in great amounts of pain sent down from higher-ups.I'm cautious to provide any advice on removing the policy until I question one thing... does your company have an acceptable use policy? The organization I work for does and any such action would result in, at best a loss of computer privilege and in a case where that is a primary work function, loss of employment. Again, I can't say I agree with the policy having been deployed, but I don't want to advise on anything that could result in greater trouble.
millster brings up good points and concerns about the acceptable use policy. I don't want to be the one to tell you how to get around it and then have you yell at me for getting you Fired - LOL - so with that being said, I will give you the best resource for what you are looking for:http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/ms772425.aspxBest place to assist you with your GP questions.
Being more along the lines of "Stupid User" rather than "IT Guru", I still have to say I can understand why they would want it. I can't tell you how many times someone here has sent out a message to a crapload of people (that's a lot--sorry...highly technical term) and then a few nimrods 'reply all' and I'm forced to wade through stupid emails MEANT for one person but sent to EVERYONE who was sent the original. Seems to me a little TRAINING might be in order, rather than just shut it all down, but again, what do I know? That is very odd.

I think the issue they are trying to solve is not exactly this but along those lines. However, I'm a complete non-believer in the "punish everyone for some peoples' mistakes." I think, as you mentioned, that some directed education would be more appropriate and beneficial to the company at large.Having gotten over my intial upset at being treated like a child by my employer, I think there is little benefit to my hacking this. As part of the deployment (Get This!) they informed everyone that while the "Reply-To-All" button and menu options would be disabled, the keyboard shortcut "Ctrl-Shft-R" could still be used to reply to all. Essentially just corporate idiocy on the rampage. While I'm all for fighting it (corporate idiocy), I suspose one has to pick one's battles and this probably isn't worth it.Thanks for all the replies. I may still play around with it just for the curiousity of knowing how it could be done.

Man, I wish they'd figure out how to disable this for Lotus Notes and force this policy on us. I use the feature quite often and it would be a step in the wrong direction as far as productivity is concerned, but for everyone's mental health and well being it would be most beneficial. We've got this one dude who every time somebody sends out an e-mail about something to everyone in our group, he has to get his $0.02 in to suck up to the supervisors and crap... "hey, i think that's a great idea!" or "why don't we try this?" or whatever... Give it up dude, keep your sucking up to yourself! It happens often just on accident with others on the corporate campus too, somebody sends out an e-mail asking that you reply to them only and then someobody clicks that reply to all button. Aaaah, corporate america.
