I think it also depends on the server you're downloading from...the one that's actually closest to me was very slow, less than 3mbps, and the one in Chicago gave me much faster speeds.

I just picked up on the fact that some of us are doing it in kb/s and some in MB/s.I was wondering where the hell some of those absurdly slow speeds came from!!!

Supposed to have 8Mb / 768k. Comcast has been killin' me on the DL. But I don't complain when my UL is consistant.Plus i'm moving this week, hopefully Comcast works better on the other side of town!

Actually I think this was limited by my network card. It would have been much higher if I were on a gig port.(This was at work where we have a total of about 4GB connection and about 500MB was in use)

$29/mo up here gets you 340K/128K. yep... we pay $50 and that gets us 1.5M/256K. anything over that you'll spend $100-$500/mo for 3M - 10M (residential).

First building in Las Colinas (Irving) to have them (my company just did a complete overhaul of a building they bought) I have gotten it upto over 100Mbps on a weekend before when no one else was leeching the connection. It is wonderful, almost like the system knows I want to click on a page, it loads that fast.i chose a server here in the metroplex for that test, here are a few more, my upload and ping suffers but download is very similarLA testVancouverAnd for good measure - over the water it slows down a bit.Sydney, AustraliaYokohama, JapanCalgaryMaine
