just wondering what hobbies everyone has. (couldn't get the search engine to come up)I do 3D modeling (like the stuff you see in Star Wars) with a program called Cinema4D, play golf, ride my mountain bike and take TaeKwonDo - Korean style not ATA.
no longer a vibe owner"Peace cannot be kept by force. It can only be achieved by understanding." Albert Einstein.
I modify cars, build furniture, blow up computers, build model cars/planes, and modify cars

Juliana you should have posted the "priceless" pic I made you of that pic lol.video games count as a hobbie? they cost money, are time consuming, enjoyable and not entirely understood by fellow family members.

that's fine that i don't care for video games and computer games. so far, hobbies include ... wait, do i have hobbies? i think i just work. no, if movie collecting or buying is one, then i think both Mav and I do that for sure. also, taking just about anything apart to see how it works or if it can be modified, car parts, computer parts, whatever i can actually take apart. soon, i plan to take up auto-x and racing.
Auto-x will be your own hobbie. I won't be able to go as they are on saturdays mostly. Sunday track though I can make those.I used to put together those model cars and such, but after a while got bored with that.

model railroading (Conrail power!), mountain biking (not the easiest thing in Cincy, but it's possible), running (maybe?) and reading (?). Always cars though... always.
oh ya, we have quite a collection of toy cars of vehicles we own or have owned. mostly of the vibe since I can't find too much on my LGT, however I do have a few of my Tundra. If i still had it, i'd get that huge R/C Tundra truck at Radio Shack!
Quote, originally posted by Atomic »Comic book collecting (I read them too).me also since 1986. my son is my other hobby, he cost money, consumes tremendous amounts of time, and I love doing it.
Not sure if this counts as a hobby or mental illness, but for the past several years I've been slowly rebuilding my house from the inside out (right down to the dirt). When I had the time and money, I did a lot of racing, and I'd like to again when the house project is done. Recently I've gotten into wine and cooking, and I dabble in weightlifting.

I am fortunate to live in a very beautiful part of the Arizona desert so most of my hobies are related to that. Four wheeling, target shooting (mostly pistol), riding quads/geocahing, hiking/mountain biking and building my CJ7. Gave up snow sking because the expense out weighed the fun.PS...Silerawd26 the BAR is a great rifle, you cant go wrong with getting it. Even reduces the kick quite a bit. My dad has one that I have been shooting all my life. My latest firearm acuisition was a M1 Garand (the rifle that won WW2), it shoots alot like the BAR.

hobbies...mm well usually school work but when i have time, i mod my xbox and other things with led's and paint. i do other things but school keeps me pretty whipped
I have so many hobbies/interests and just not enough time. I think I'm pretty much done modifying my Vibe, but it was a lot of fun and I enjoy building and working on things. I build electric powered model airplanes and have some r/c boats and cars from when I was younger that I haven't used much over the past several years. I enjoy photography, traveling, running, exploring, nature trails, and video games too. My latest and what is consuming most of my time now is my new sailboat. I just bought it a couple weeks ago, a 1982 Catalina 25.I've been wanting to own a boat since I was a child and now I made it happen. I've been looking at boat classifieds for many months and this beautiful boat came along. I bought it from a museum at an excellent price and have been working on it the past couple weeks. Cleaned the entire interior and restored the teak, now I removed as much exterior teak as I could and am restoring it at home. It's coming along well and I will be sailing soon. Like modifying the Vibe, there will be many modifications I'll make to my Catalina. New navigation lights, motor mount, stereo system, bimini top (like a covertible top), DC to AC inverter, the list can go on and on there are so many things you can do. So, I have many hobbies/interests, but with limited time I don't get to enjoy some as much.

When Not working or sleeping, I figure out new ways of modding my Vibe that hasn't been done before. Then I go out and race it around until I break something. Then spend the next week or so fixing it.I'd really like to get into gas engine r/c helicopters. Saw a show on DIY network and it's amazing what those things can do!Been doing paintball sports for the last 10 years. It's tough now that I move away from my team and especially my best friend. I would be the one to draw out fire from the enemy team while he would be sniping them from the flank with his totally silent gun. All you'd hear was the splat on your face mask!

Tony Stewart (despite what Gibbs had a hand in with Pontiac's departure from NASCAR) im not a big fan of stuart more a huge fan of Ricky Rudd and Kasey Kahne.oh yea i forgot to mention i love collecting scaled model cars any scale. and i also have some R/C cars, the Zip Zaps, and the HPI Micro RS4 (ive had this car since 2002).
Another Hobby of mine is Geneology.SO far I have a line that gets back to around 700 AD. And includes some early French Kings! Such as Hugh Capet and Henry the First.
I collect and try to keep alive exotic plants, cook, sea and white water kayak, hike, back country snowshoe and light mountaineering, camp, offroad with a pair of built up Jeeps (Wrangler and Cherokee), build bumpers and other parts for the Jeeps, weld, regear different types of axles. I'd like to get my own place as I don't think the landlord loves my fab tools filling up the basement and garage. I would definitly consider fixing a house or building a house a hobbie...anything being out of the daily grind at your normal job is a hobbie IMHO.Oh yeah...drink wine, rarely the same vintage twice.

I play a lot of Heroscape. More info at http://www.hasbro.com/heroscape/Play Guild Wars on my PC with my wife and my daughter. Also playing Disciples II on my PC lately.Keeping my 4 PC's running and upgraded is a hobby also.I used to collect comics. Now I just have 3800+ comics from the 60's - 80's sitting in boxes in my basement. And, even though I haven't been able to do it as much this Summer, here's something I really enjoy (that's me on the left)....

wow. this is an old thread!and funny that Mav said i'd be the only one auto-x this year. i think we both went to the same number of events! LOLracing ended up being a great hobby and sport for both of us. next season we will try and do more kayaking, whitewater rafting, hiking, etc as i signed us up for the American Canoe Association.
Yeah this is an old thread. I posted above right after I bought my boat in January and now through this year I have learned so much and completed many projects, with many more to go (boats have an endless list). Even though there has been quite a bit of work, which I find very rewarding, I still sail her just about every weekend. Here is a photo in action:I still love my Vibe, but I'm done with modifying it. I love the 30 mpg gas mileage and large cargo capacity especially since it has come in very handy driving 75 miles one way to my boat and carrying almost anything I need. Too bad it can't also tow 5,000 lbs!

Yeah, there is just something about harnessing nature's power and just cruising along hearing only the wind and waves. Last Saturday was definitely thrilling, sailing in winds that were a constant 20-25 knots and gusts topping 46 knots! We even hit 45 degrees of heel (how far the boat leans over). Oh and to top it off, of course gas mileage is great. I'm still only on my second fill up of my 6 gallon tank this year.
