I can imagine this happening in a real combat situation.... Definitely doesnt help their image..The explosive head must be activated when the missile reaches a certain speed.

I wonder why nobody asked me what happened...ok guys, I'll try to be clear in English.Yes, it was in Valcartier.Yes, you need about 20 meters before the head is activated.what happened? can be lots of thing. seems the expulsive part worked, but it never started. wire probs? detonator prob? etc.We had prob few years ago with one Eryx. They stopped all missile launch after that. They became old and when they said "ok, we can use them again", they had new probs like that. Bad image for Canadian Forces? This is made by US Army. They probably have the same problem. Our hand grenades often don't work on our range, about 1 for 12. The problem is coming from a part made in US...

I am just stating that the general idea of the Canadian armed forces people have is that we use obsolete technologies, subs, choppers, name it...The general public doesnt know who developped/built this piece of equipment...in this case, image is everything. That's my point.
