Torque Specs for Valve Cover

Post by JanetsVibe »

Hi,

I just replaced the valve cover gasket (2zz engine), now I need to retighten the bolts. I used to know the torque for it, but now I forgot, and I can't find where I originally found that information...

I did try to research this without having to ask, but couldn't find a thread on here regarding this. Searching the manual, I found lots of options. But wasn't sure which one was the right one. From the list, I might choose: Cylinder head cover No. 2 x cylinder head cover at 7.0Nm, but that seems awfully low.

Thanks

My 03 pontiac factory service manual calls it a "cylinder head cover" but from the pics it's unambiguously the valve cover

It says 10 N-m (89 lb-in) for the valve cover on both the 1ZZ and 2ZZ engines

I've replaced the gasket on the 03 VGT and it's not much according to the manual.
