Gave my Vibe a SERIOUS bath Was way overdue PLUS the wife brought home a few thousand New York BUGS plastered all over the front end & mirrors from her holiday trip. I took the helpful tip (found ONLY on this forum) about a bounce fabric softener sheet & water and all I can say is ............. WOW did it do a fantastic job getting ALL those bugs off the Vibe It looked so clean that I had to get updated pics & change my signature
Just did my plugs this morning. The old one's only had 15k on them, but I got some bad gas this past winter from the Safeway where we fill up. They lure you in with the club card discounts then trash your engine with crappy fuel. Oh well.I figured ~30 bucks and 30 minutes is pretty cheap peace of mind. The old ones looked like they had closer to 120k than 15k on them, and the gas we were running ruined a set of platinum plugs in my wife's van after about 20k. Maybe I'll just make plugs an annual maintenance thing every spring/summer.
Had the Vibe's exterior detailed for the first time ever after 6 years of ownership. Washed, clayed & waxed. Looks great and the paint is as smooth as a baby's bottom. Less work to do now on Meet day to get her ready. Worth every penny of the $40 he was charging, but I gave him an additional $20 for the awesome work & detailing tips and tricks (so I can do it on my own).

Chopped off 3.5" from the lower segment of my CAI to try to accommodate the new filter, and it STILL isn't enough. Oh well, I'll try again later.I also put in some aluminum screening on the passenger air intake along the firewall to potentially ward off mice from entering the cabin through that route.

Wasn't to the Vibe, but we debadged Chris's '08 G6 GT (Like I told him, the lines are much cleaner now) and painted the calipers red like mine (looks very slick behind those polished rims of his...) And still have half a can of caliper paint left, after doing heavy coats on TWO cars! I am bringing the rest of the paint kit to the meet if anyone wants to take it with them- plenty of cleaning spray and caliper paint left, all you need is some painters' tape, paintbrush, and an old toothbrush (for cleaning).

Seeing how we have the same color, I know how sharp it will look

Finally got around to installing my new head unit..lol. This one: http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=41475I'll be installing a few fun cosmetic items tomorrow, JIT for the meet: Strut Tower Bar, Pedal Covers & Oil Cap & possible interior overlays (maybe). My ultimate goal was to be lowered for the meet but that won't be happening since I wasn't able to get all the items in, in time to do a clean strut/shock assembly swap. I should have it all by next month, the drop the Vibe once again.

Didn't you sell your DC Sports STB?Anyways, I thought I'd throw this at you, I put a couple of washers as spacers under the the mounting hole to fill the indentation where it would sit so it wouldn't warp the mounting holes

I bought the supplies 6-months ago and I feel it is finally time to change it I really want to get another LED mod "sort of done" at least to where when I pull up I'll get some Ooooh's & Ahhh's from the appearance I''ll have to try to take part of Friday off. With A/C systems working overtime, I've been extremely busy and no time for the Vibe these past couple weeks will

Waxing and tires are done... interesting note, the Meguiars High Endurance tire gloss does a pretty good job of taking the excess wax off the black side plastic as well. Brought the car inside due to possible bad weather coming through later, going to do the windows and interior after lunch (and a badly needed shower, it's 90 degrees up here)

intstalled a Nova Pre-emption (turns red traffic lights green) dash light last nightinstalled it in front of the steering wheel and ran wire down right by door debating if i should move it so its centered in the dash
Installed a trailer hitch (Curt 12228) and wiring kit.Hitch took 30 minutes from the time I took it out of the wrap 'till the last bolt was torqued and all tools put away (also used loctite 272 on the bolts). Wiring kit took about an hour.... mostly for running the wire to the battery...Maybe one of these days I'll get around to washing it.... but not today... (tomorrow doesn't look promising either...)

I'm curious too. This was yesterday, but surveyed the damage done by a bottle of bleach that opened up in the hatch area and spilled on the cargo mat in Frosty Jake. It's not really as bad as I suspected, but bad enough.Anyone got a spare?

Quote, originally posted by areles »I prepped the winter steelies for powder coating.cool!! I'd like to see the finished result of that. I was going to spay paint my steelies glossy black but I could see powder coating being much more durable for that.
I was going to have them sprayed, but Arm (paint guy) said it would last til I got the winter tires put on. He suggested the powder coating. I don't know how much it's going to cost, but I'll post pix later.
I removed the ebrake boot and the armrest cover to send to redline goods to have them make the custom red and black leather covers! Sorry I have an automatic so I can't send them a shift boot template. Also removed the door panels to try to remove the door inset fabric to get new ones made also, but that fabric is hot riveted in or something, aka not removable... sad. But at least I know how to take the door panel off! Didn't break a single door clip either. So while I was at it dismantling things, I took the plastic panels out from behind the door handles and from surrounding the window buttons, and spray painted them red. Unfortunately the can was sloppy, so I need to wet-sand down and do a second coat.

Mailed my ebrake boot and armrest cover off to Redline Goods so they can make me some custom stuffs! Also wet-sanded, repainted, and installed the small panels on the doors behind the handle and around the window buttons.... only a few more red things to go!
