05 XR AWD Trix w/ 44,000mi. on the odo. I have gotten upwards of well over 300, around 360 to be exact with highway driving on a road trip to upstate NY (Lake Sacandaga)But I typically hit 240-260 avg.
Hey...Have a GT. the best I've seen when the light comes on is about 375 or so . The worst is in the range of 200-220, that was last Winter '06. I posted this a while ago but can't remember the exact number.Right now I'm at 312.4 at the quarter mark. That should be able a 10 Gallon fill-up... Gotta love this warm weather! Dave

my best was up around 340 or so. on a drive up to kenosha. average is maybe 300.but this winter was the worst for some reason. about 260-275/tank. maybe it was the change in my commute which went from all highway (60mpd) to part city part highway, same distance.

I'm *still* only getting 20MPG average with my AWD, I have seen 2 tanks that got 23MPG, but then there's also the one tank last week where I was driving normally and it tapped at 17 MPGHowever now that I'm past 1600 miles and I'm "mostly broken in" I have a 2000 mile road trip next week, Boston to South Carolina and back within a week. The test will be going down with just me in the car and cruise control, that should get me max mileage, then coming back I'll be carrying 375lbs of stuff with me.I'll report my results back to the thread.Diane

I need it in KM... currently in winter with letting the car run 20 mins a day to warm up (10 mins at lunch, another 10 before the drive home) I get about 450KM per tank.

Well, I always fill up with a quarter tank remaining. At 3/4 empty it usually means I've gone around 300 miles. But, factoring that to a full tank would put it at about 395 miles. I've never seen the warning light. I've only had the car for a couple of months so my numbers aren't too firm. My best MPG has been 31 and worst at 28 with mostly city driving. I plan on taking a road trip this week or next so I'm hoping to get a highway figure from it.UPDATE: my road trip netted 40 MPG going out and again coming back. 50/50 interstate and highway.

I usually get about 285mi and fill up 11.5 gallons. Mostly highway miles. I didn't answer the poll because it has a gap in mileage range between 260-300!I'm really upset with the mileage expecting the 26-31 mpg advertised and hearing on the forum about how some people achive upwards of 40 mpg! Consumer reports rated the Vibe AWD as one of the "best" at 24mpg though. Huh??http://autos.msn.com/advice/CR...23460
Average tank 260-300. Therefore I can't vote for a nonexistant choice. Worst milage 24 mpg (city driving, snow and near zero temperatures, bad mix), best 34 (100% highway) On a side note, what is the most gas put in a tank. The tank is rated at 13.5 but I never can get more than 11.5 gallons in with the tank at flatline E, and filling the fill nozzle. Has anyone gotten near 13 gallons in a tank.
Hi harryyiii,I'll have to check my old records but I think I once put in 12.6 gallons. I know it's not a good thing to do but I was heading home and have a favorite gas station I go to. I remember being very nervous about making it there. Luckily, I made it and all was well.Dave
Just finishing an East Coast road trip...over the week in a Vibe which started out at 5000 km I've averaged about 500 km per tank at speeds of about 120-130 km/hr.

There are gaps in the poll as mentioned. What happened to 340-400? Most people seem to be reporting "when they fill-up" not "how much on a full tank". Who would wait until the tank is empty before refueling anyway? I believe the tank is 13.2 US gallons, so one could figure the difference at fill-up and multiply by their average MPGs. BTW 1 US gal=3.7854118 liters; so a CA would have about 50L tank.

you must be young and a metric convert, not like us old folk, 550kmX.6=330 miles..........And when your talking about a $1 or 1.20/ litre......think $5.46 per imp gallon (@1.20/l)..............I remember gas in the 60's was 60 cents a GALLON!! And when our 'Merican friends are claiming their MPG we add 5 mpg to theirs IE they say 30 mpg ours will be 35.......oooopss bet you don't know how to convert L/Km to Imp MPG..... ....Metrification.......Trudeau's pie in the sky experiment......

cool so i'd be up there with most of you..300-340..gonna see how far i go once i fill up..til i gotta fill up again on my trip to Maryland.. gonna be so much fun
living in a very hilly(read steep)area. My AWD and I get avg of 22~23 city no a/c on. That gives me 250-260 till the light comes on. I am always able to get 11+ gallons in. A couple times got 12+ gal. in. Like the brochure says. Dimensions are approximate. I know the math is not exact but the odometer says this. Highway only I get 29mpg or so with the car fully loaded w/ a/c on with the family. SO that gets me just past 300 on the tank. But I have never done a 300 miles + one way trip. So this is a guess. 8/8/07 Update: Lately this summer I have been getting 280- 300 miles before the light come on. 90% back road and small town driving. I went 200 miles one way hiway and the gauge was still way above a 1/2 tank. Somehting good is going on here?

even with my aggressive driving I pull off 300 a tank for city at least, but it usually never reaches that low. When I mix in a trip to the twin cities and city I get like 350. Again thats driving fast on the highway too, I should let my dad borrow the vibe to see the best mileage possible......
Today I put in 12.4 gallons, 457 miles since the last fill up. 38.3 mpg. That was not city driving, so it doesn't belong in this thread, but I had to gloat
last tank fetched me 605 km out 40 Liters....So that's ~380 miles from 10.5 gal.Mixed city/hwy, base 5 sp vibe.I try to drive relatively light on the gas pedal, coast in gear down hills, etc...
Just bought my vibe a month ago.277 when the light came on.300+ on a tank? Thats amazing. Actually im kinda disappointed. I averaged 350+ on my 01 civic.I thought I would get better, but it looks like im not too off track. Im going to drop in a k&n and switch to sythetic and try to sqeeze a little more out of a tank.

i usually get about 270-300 out of a tank and i do 97% city driving...side note! they do make a fuel additive now, they dont sell it in new york and you have to buy it online, you add one ounce per tank of gas and it really does boost your mpgs.. my father is using it now, it took him from getting 35 mpg to 40mpg.i think the bottle is 30 bucks, but there is 32 ounces, so basically an extra buck every time you fill up. i will most likely be getting a bottle of this stuff in the near future.
I am one of the lucky ones that gets 30 to 31 mpg in town driving, with the air on and shifting above 3 on the tack. I have gotten a all time best of 36 and 30 is my low, normally without running the ac I get 32 in town. The last fill up was 304 miles for 9.45 gallons. This is in a 03 base 5 speed.

300 miles per tank, give or take. 03 regular vibe. Mostly highway. (I drive 94 miles round trip to work, the wife drives about 100 miles round trip to school)
new record just set for me :D668 km from 40Lor for you yankees...415 miles from 10.55 gal.. for a new record of 39.3 mpg!It was mostly country highway driving at 90 km/h (55 mph) driving back and forth as I was moving. All I have to say is .... suck it, EPA estimates
Ya, I do about 35 mpg with roughly a 70% 'city' drive routine. However, I live in the country, so everything's 55 with very few stops, but no highways. I almost hit 40 mpg on one trip, but I was on dead flat ground on a 70 degree day, no breeze, doing 60 m/h in the middle of Ohio. I've never done that since. A friend asked me why I don't get a hybrid and I told him I'm just trying to save money, so why would I pay more for a car that does about what my car does?
My gas light usually waits until about 350 to click on, I've got an 04 gt. The most I've ever pushed it was 380 since I've never wanted to find out just how far it will go but I'm sure it'll go over 400.

All these numbers, lol. Since I have an AWD XR Matrix I have a smaller gas tank and more weight to pull around. So a typical fillup is anywhere from 10-11.5 gallons depending. I've once in a blue moon gone just past 12 (into my reserves).I drive 50 miles roundtrip for work 5 days a week and then figure another 200 or so on top of that each week including driving the 40 mile roundtrip to my gf's a few times. Currently I get anywhere from 260-280 a tank. I fillup before my light comes on so I could probably push over 300. This is mostl traffic driving too mind you.On open highways during trips even with the car loaded down I can very easily exceed 300. Last trip I took the best mileage I pulled was 380 something. So divided out by 11.5 gallons (the light was def. on) that would be a few over 30mpg.On highway cruises these cars regardless of weight and drivetrain can get some really decent numbers.
