2005 and up supercharger?

Post by KrazyB »

I was just wondering if there was a trd supercharger or similar for the 2005 vibes. I thought that I read about one through GM a year ago but now I can not find it. Thanks in advance guys.

It's the same, but you will need a plate for the throttle-body.And you will need some type of engine management because you can't use the Turd ECU.Here's a link to search the adaptor plate.http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=30399

The '05+ Vibe Base uses the same supercharger as the '03-'04 Vibe Base, BUT because of the new electronic throttle (DBW - Drive By Wire), you will need to get an adapter plate and use an e-manage or Unichip to control the 5th injector for the s/c. You can read up on how to supercharge your '05-'08 DBW Vibe Base here: http://9thgencorolla.com/forum...46356

No apologies needed, bro. You actually gave him a direct link,so it was better. I just wanted to tell him there is a forced induction section that this should be under.

I just installed one this last weekend in my 05 base auto. The writeup on 9thgencorolla is excellent. You do need the adapter plate (~$176 shipped). I went with the e-manage blue for 5th injector management. Also get the boomslang harness, its roughly $300 but you don't have to worry about getting it wrong. The only hang ups i had:Could not find a place to mount the support bar.The dip stick goes 3/4 inch to the front and right of the stud, not in front of the stud.OBX crank pulley had to be swapped back out for stock, belt doesn't fit with aftermarket pulleys.5th injector wiring. I used the default wiring from the kit instead of buying a Bosch plug off of ebay. No other part of the ECU kit is used.If using e-manage blue, set jumper #2 to closed from open if your car wont start.Set jumpers 5 and 6 to closed from open. This is required for using e-manage to run your 5th injector. You will need to wire up your 5th injector. Here is a pic:http://www.9thgencorolla.com/forum/show ... unt=15Maps are a PITA to find: Here is some info:http://www.9thgencorolla.com/forum/show ... =62125Have a OBDII scanner handy to reset your CES lights and see whats erroring. You want all CEL codes cleared before dyno'ing otherwise your ECU is running in closed loop.Good luck, and BTW, if your looking for good gauges, my neighbor sells Megan gauges, and they match our dash gauges very well. His site is http://www.boostbuddy.comGood luck! Once you go boost you'll never go back

Glad it worked out for you.I'm curious why the support bracket didn't fit,it wasn't long enough or there wasn't a threaded bolt hole for it.I don't like how my dipstick sits but I'm not to worried about it.Boost FTW.

honestly, i couldn't figure out where to bolt it too. i found the bottom bolt, but could not find the top bolt. If anyone knows where the top bolt is, please attach a picture, it makes me nervous that I don't have that on.

the one for the bottom was easy, i just couldn't find the one for the top. The 9thgencorolla directions stated that there was one there holding a spot but not used. I didn't see it.....mabey i need a refund on my LASIK.

I worried about that too. However I'm running rich, so I figured I have a little wiggle room. I'm also running with water injection. I have no pinging just crap power and a CEL about beign too rich.

I'm going to recheck my e-manage settings and report them here. I posted the previous from memory and it may not be accurate. I'll try to get them back in this thread today.

You should get a wideband o2 sensor to know the real condition. Without one, you're blind! If you run too rich (in the 9's of afr), you'll get cylinder wash, which means gas mixed with oil. Really bad for lubrication...

Consider changing your oil soon too if you're running rich... I had a motor seize up on me from running rich, too much in the oil and could lubricate. Better to be safe on doing an extra oil change than a seized up motor!

Very good point for those that are thinking of doing this. Dont risk your engine over a $40 oil change.I did that and added a transmission cooler at the same time.
