GMpartsdirect.com sells them for $3003.00.http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/r...d=146 He paid $200.00 less than dealer cost. If you have the money go for new. Getting missing bits and pieces can be hard or impossible. There can't be that many new ones left since they don't make them anymore so grab them while you can.

You're right Sunny. I also heard that they weren't making any new kits. Found this TRD kit for less... http://www.toyotaworld.com/trdsupercharger.htmlbut wanted to stick with GM for warantee reasons. I've pieced together mods before...but at his point I just want to know that the kit is complete. For time's sake if nothing else. Will keep all posted....

But installing it yourself voids your powertrain warranty, right? That one year is just on the SC unit, isn't it?

Yeah,it's only one year on the s/c unit when you install it yourself. The only problem is what happens if the s/c needs to be replaced, there is not many GM units out there,so what do they do then?

Why would installing a GM part void your GM powertrain warranty?

It doesn't if the dealer puts the s/c on.But they charge "mucho denero" to install the s/c.I talked to a few dealers when is was doing mine, and they wanted $1100 to install it,and I only had a year left on my power-train warranty. So,I figured if anything went wrong, maybe it would cost less than $1100,I took the chance.

It voids your powertrain warranty because they won't warranty what you could possibly do to it. If you install the SC wrong and totally mess something up they don't want to be responsible.

According to this, the GM S/C doesn't void the powertrain warranty when customer installed.http://www.genvibe.com/html/fe...shtml

"The GM Performance Parts Vibe Supercharger has been extensively tested and tuned, resulting in a high-quality finished product that carries a warranty of 12 months or 12,000 miles from customer installation. When dealer installed, the warranty stretches to 36 months or 36,000 miles."To me it only says the s/c for 12 months when you DIY.Then the 36 with dealer install.Anyways,it says it on a paper that was in my kit, which I don't know where it is right now.

And how much is FLP charging you for the install? I might take that route if its a decent price. I looked at their site and the type of cars they work on, did they look at you weird when you brought in your little four banger?

Probably 8-10 hours all in. They are very cool at FLP, just regular cars guys. The guy I have been dealing with pulled up in a little Acura...Of course his other car is like 700 HP LOL. Brought my two kids with me to check out the shop, they got a kick out of seeing all the "race cars" in the shop! Will post the results and how FLP works out.

Hope you have better luck at your tuner shop than I did at mine. They were all nice and seemed excited about working on my car, at first. I had them first rebuild my exhaust system. They talked me into getting 3" from header to tip with magnaflow cat, resonator, and muffler. After 3 months of calls, going back to the shop and bugging them to fixthe things I want, the way I want them fixed. It still sounds like crap. (They can build an exhaust for the #8 show truck in the COUNTRY, but they can't handle one for the Vibe). I gave up on them and will never return. I asked them about rebuilding my engine because of the piston ring problem I have. They wanted to REALLY build it and would end up costing me about $8 grand (but it would be about 260hp ).Then I overheard the owner talking on the phone to another speedshop about how many ricers they get. And I was one of them. So, unless you have a 400+hp muscle car or true race car, they really don't care for your buisness.Good luck on your shop!! I hope it works out for you!

So far I am very pleased with the smooth application of power. I just pulls through out the entire range of RPM's. Packed up the family for a long ride out into the "sticks" and had a blast. Got a chance to really open it up on some long, straigh back rodes. And being a Vibe, we had plenty of room for all the Pumpkins, Apples, Squash etc we picked at the farm we went to. Gotta love it, family of 4, plus bushels full of produce, 6 Pumpkins and room to spare. It is so much quieter w/o the CAI on it, gonna take some time getting use to it, kind of deceiving and I find my self going much faster that it seems. I'll get some posted this week. So far I am happier than pigs in dirt!
