Hey Lancer, my brother said we may be able to get some garage space in Kaukauna. My brother works for WIR during the season and knows the owners and operators VERY well.
Can he get me a job there? I want to go to the track but I'm not sure I should beat the car any more until I get it fixed up.Let me know if you use your bro's garage. I'll give ya a hand.

When do think you will be supercharged? I'm such an impatient person, i would be going nuts right now with the S/c just sitting there NOT in my car, good luck though.
I dunno. I'm hoping within the next two weeks. I'm still waiting on some parts and such. I think this weekend I'll be installing the stock airbox and removing the Unichip to put those up for sale. Hopefully install next weekend or the weekend after. We'll see. It is driving me nuts. It's sitting on my living room floor taunting me.
My father has looked through the instructions and nothing really intimidated him. The only question he had was on the crankshaft pulley. It says to use a certain service tool to unbolt it. Then you replace the bolt and torque it to 150 ft/lb. How did you guys go about this?
That's a weird sized socket, sort of like a huge torx nut.I borrowed the socket from a buddy of mine, and you need an air powered tool to get that off, because it's torqued to 150lbs.I installed the s/c first and replaced that bolt a week later,so you can get away without it till you either hit a shop to do it or find the socket to fit it.

Any idea the exact part that I need? I searched up the part numbers given in the TRD instructions and it seems like some Pin Wrench Assembly thing. Not sure.SST 09960-1001- (09962-01000), (09963-01000)
The problem wasn't getting the old one off,it was the socket type for the new crank bolt that's in the kit.I forget what type it was now,but it wasn't standard. And Petrucci, did you get that crank bolt in the kit that you got.Did you also get the Loctite for that bolt.

I'll have to check and see if I have the bolt. My dad has loctite so that's fine. Ugh.......this whole thing is starting to get annoying. Never should have bought it.
Trust me it will be worth it.I wouldn't worry about that bolt too much.If I were you,I would pay a shop 20 bucks to change it.Did all the things you ordered arrive yet.

I'm pretty sure I have the bolt but we'll see. I got the TRD Thermostat and fuel line disconnect tool. Still waiting to receive my spark plugs. Then I have to get some tubing, copper spray-a-gasket.....and who knows what else. It's something new each day.
Thanks for the info but DAYUUUM! That sucker must be 24K gold plated. The NAPA store here sells the 180F t-stat for $9.88 but they don't list a 160F. Did you purchase a 160F or a 180F? Thanks.
Mine states:3.4L & 1.8LPTR04-35050Manufactured in JapanThis is a quality part. I wouldn't even think about going elsewhere and buying something made in Ethiopa.
A good buddy of mine is a Toyota tech, and he told me he never seen a TRD thermostat fail.I couldn't see how it would hurt to use another brand though. It's not hard to change.

This one may be more sensitive and durable. I dunno. I'm just (removed) about these things and prefer quality over quantity. It's totally up to him, though.
Maybe,it does seem more durable than most.I used the TRD one that was in my kit,but it's an older box and says the 3.4L v6 Camry.Hopefully we won't have to worry about it for a few years. This will be my first winter with the s/c,so I hope for no problems, but the s/c gets hot pretty quick,so I don't foresee any problems. To be safe,I will plug the block heater in the winter just as a precaution.

Hmm. The one I ordered was this:PTR01-35050-01 Each$79.00 Service Parts, TRD, Thermostat, 160 Degrees, 3.4L V6 & 1.8L I4 And I got the PTR04-35050. I wonder if this is the updated part number or what. Grrrrrr.
I'll have the rest of the parts this weekend. Then I have to wait until my dad has a free weekend.........ugh. This is killing me. Should I get a boost gauge? Which one would you recommend and how does one install it?
You could just temporarily attach a vacuum/boost gauge to the windshield to observe boost levels. This would verify that all is well after the install and that your getting the correct amount of boost, 7.5 lbs peak I believe. The tube for the gauge would attach somewhere after the S/C or in a high pressure area of the intake.
Yeah, you need to figure out where to mount the guage first. The rest is easy! You can either tap into one of the boost lines off the manifold, or use the little port that's already in the intake manifold. It's just happens to be the same size thread. Then just cover it with some sort of heat shield and push the hard line through the firewall. You'll also need to find a power source for the light in your guage for night driving. We can do that at my house. ( the gauge install, not the s/c install )I got a basic autometer boost guage with a red light inside. I'd like to change it to a black face so it matches the a/f guage a little better.HURRY up installing the s/c!! It's gonna get cold REALLY soon!

No kidding. The past few nights have been great for driving. Nice cool and dense air. I'm trying to get this installed as soon as possible. My dad has to do some shift work here and there so we're trying to pick out a good weekend. I'm going nuts.
I remember you saying you were planning on selling a few things to pay for the S/c, what exactly are you getting rid of, I'm itching to install something in my Vibe.
The CAI/Helix is already up for sale. May have a buyer in Canada but I don't really feel like shipping there since you need to get rectally searched just to cross the border now. But the Unichip will also be for sale. I'll probably post it this weekend........assuming the SC install goes as planned.
CAI/Catback Exhaust. I'm sure Brad at NeverEnough would load a new map for you if you wanted. I paid $515, probably going to sell it for $450. It's been on my car for a little over a month. If you're not running premium yet then I'd start.......clear out all that sub-91 crap from your tank
If you want to run Map B. Map A is for regular fuel, B is 91 and above. Premium is well worth it. I actually got better mileage after switching to premium and getting the Unichip.......it was quite weird, but everything runs a lot more efficient right now. I usually average about 27-28, now I average 30-31. It's only like 10 cents more per gallon. Map B is totally worth it.
ok, well this might be a graduation present to myself, so I wont be getting it until 2months from now. I didn't realize the chip was that much, i might get the exhaust first then sorry..
No Problem. I'd just start saving for the SC. I wish I would have done that first before everything I have now. I never knew that I was going to go this far, though. Oh wells.
Yeah, planning on using my tax return next spring for the S/c. I'm just trying to get my car ready for it now ( header, exhaust, etc.). Good luck with the install! I wont be surprised if you come on hear telling us about all your speeding tickets you got over the weekend, lol
