gm supercharger for an 07

Post by rendar »

we love our 03 vibe so much we're going to get a 2nd one. A new 07. i want to have the gm supercharger installed prior to pick up. my question is that the performance catalogue lists the kit for 03-04 only. Will this kit work/fit on an 07? I work for the dealer and we're having a tough time figuring out if there will be any troubles.

As far as I know, an 03-04 supercharger will NOT work on an 05 and up because of the "drive-by-wire" throttle-body. I could be wrong, but someone will come along and let us know for sure... they always do, cause genvibe people are good like that.

yes it can be done, its not the same "easy" bolt on for the 05+ as it is for the 03 and 04's because you need an additional bracket/plate to be fabricated.you can try searching for some info. the guy that figured out how to make the bracket is not a vibe owner, hes one of the corolla or matrix guys (i dont remember)welcome to the board

You will also need to use an E-manage or Unichip to control the A/F as the TRD S/C ECU is only set-up for the '03-'04.

Hmm, mods to brackets, ECU changes...not as simple as i was hoping. Don't know if i want to mess too much with an 07. if i didnt have 200,000k on the 03 i'd sc it with the factory unit.

The adapter plate goes between the throttle body and the supercharger. It sells for about $100.00. Greddy E-Manage will run about $400.00 Cnd plus you need a bunch of wiring harnesses. I doubt you will find a supercharger at any dealer because they quite making them. Also your warranty would not cover the supercharger or any related engine failures. You should do a search of all Canadian dealers for a leftover new Vibe GT. You will have the same power without all the hassles.
