Rear Defroster button sticky

Post by bigdoug »

I have noticed ever since I purchased my car, the rear defroster button above my radio has been a bit sticky. If I push it in, it sticks in the depressed position often. (Occasionally it pops back out again). If it does this, I usually have to push it again, or sometimes get a tiny screwdriver to wiggle it back out.

Is this the normal functionality of the button or should I get another one?

You could try spraying some silicone spray lube around the edge of the button and work it inside. Not to much as it will run down on to any thing below the button. If need be pull the button out and then spray with silicone lube.
