Radio turned on all by itself ?>?>?>?

Post by mktrat »

I was driving yesterday with the radio off and suddenly it was on then off again. Just long enough to see "sublime" on the display.

A few mile later it did it again but this time it was a goofy sci-fi sound effect and RUSN#&#(%$(#(&(@&@#RHWKEFH#CF@#*FHOEHFNEO on the display.

Any thoughts?

Probably.

It's did it again a few days ago...... :?:

She's probably mad at me cuz I cleaned her out and have been babying the crap out of her ever since I got her back from the bride!!

Blacked out rims, white grill (gotta find that darn piece), gotta get it tinted.......all in due time only 106k on the clock.

I'll get pictures together eventually, it only took 7 years to find you guys!! I bought her Nov 10, 2007.

If it starts spontaneously playing 50's music, then call it Christine and get rid of it.

I don't think there's any remote commanded turn on for those radios, so it seems like a problem with the radio itself. If it keeps doing it, then perhaps you could take it out, and open it up and check that all the internal wiring connectors are well connected. Otherwise maybe look for a replacement, could be a good reason to get one with a real AUX in, and bluetooth.

Just to update this:

It is still turning itself on AND off. About once a week now.
It's possessed, and I'm okay with it.

And half the backlight burned out, I'm thinking it might be time to kiss it GOODBYE!!!
