You should be able to put whatever switch you want on them.

If it were me, I might tap into power at the under hood fuse block, and use a relay to have the new lights come on with the factory fog lights. Then, use the info viewtopic.php?f=28&t=9844&p=105604 so you can use the fogs even with high beams

I don't know where a good spot to run wires through the firewall if you want to use a different switch.
