Mystery wire on 2009 Vibe

Post by Ontarioviber »

Hello All,
I recently purchased a used 2009 Vibe (1.8 Auto) and noticed yesterday this black wire hanging down on the drivers side.
The wire goes down behind the kick plate as seen in the attached photos. I need to take the kick plate off and try to trace it.
I put a meter on it and there was 1.7 volts to ground. There is a spade lug on the end as well.
Its a long shot I know, but anyone have any ideas?

Brent

Welcome to GenVibe Brent :D Seeing how this is a used Vibe that you purchased, also that the wire shown is BLACK and has heavier than usual insulation, also a female tab connector, tells me that this wire is soldered/spliced into a factory wire/harness somewhere and was used for some type of aftermarket application. Looks like you'll have to pop off some panels after all to see where this wire leads you to.

Keep us posted on this mystery and post pics of your Vibe with details. Welcome to the club ;)

That doesn't appear to be OEM. Probably was owner installed for some accessory that has now been removed.
