Sirius outage yesterday. Any of you affected out there?

Post by tpollauf »

OK. I know GM is paired up with XM satellite (still technically separate from Sirius) but for those of us out there who have Sirius equipment, there was a major outage yesterday (7-11-2012) at roughly 6:15 am EST and I was one of the MANY customers affected. To this day, hour, minute, second ... I am still without a signal. Just curious if any other GenVibers with Sirius had this problem.

I also am a member on "Sirius Buzz" and this link goes into some detail as to what happened http://siriusbuzz.com/forum/showthread. ... not-active" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I'm just thankful every day that my XM subscription is still active! Unless the prior owner bought a really long term contract, I bet it will quit on me one day soon as they sold the car in October to the dealer. But I'm afraid to even ask XM about it since I bet they would cancel it ASAP if they knew the car was sold.

Hope yours is back up and running again!

So do you think the outage is serious?

Good news, for me anyways. The signal has been restored and I now have Sirius radio again. This particular receiver is primarily attached to a boom box and goes with me to the lake, job sites, and is in the bedroom every night which I listen to as I sleep. Some serious (no pun intended)tossing & turning the past few nights without the radio playing. I'll sleep much better tonight ;)

I had to listen to FM radio like some sort of commoner. So glad that it's back!

I feel lost without my XM when something goes wrong, even though I just have it through my factory radio. Maybe I should invest in a portable one?
