I'm wanting to get a GPS to use in the Vibe and my truck. My friend has a tomtom that we used when we went to D.C. It seemed to work pretty good. Any recommendations on brands and what features to look for?

If you could find a Garmin NUVI 255wt or 265wt, that would be a good way to go. Tomtoms are a bit less user friendly, but they are also cheaper. Just watch out, because the new Garmins have some reliability issues. The 205, 255, and 265 series are last years models, and are very reliable and accurate. As long as you stick with a Tomtom, Garmin, or Magellan, you should be fine.
My husband and I both have Garmin (I have a 205 and he has some discontinued fancy model that we got for a good price). We love them. My dad also has a Navigon brand that works very well and was also intuitive.

I've got an LG unit. 4:3 screen, seems to have all the bells and whistles that the $$$ ones have, can find pretty much anything. Paid $100 on boxing day for it.
