Fan only the highest speed works

Post by Mitch »

All of a sudden I can only get fan to work when I put it to the highest speed (with A/C on, the same).
It's a Pontiac Vibe 2006.
Any ideas what has to be fixed/replaced are greatly appreciated!

Yep, it's a really common issue, and it's an easy thing to fix.

Pop out the glovebox, reveals the blower motor, the resistor is located on the outside of that box. You'll find it quickly.

The fans DC motor has flat spots on its windings. The bump knocked it past the flat spot. You need to replace the blower motor.
