06 base, 199067 miles, runs like new.
But I went to top off the oil and noticed this strange bit broken under the oil cap.
Any ideas what this is?
I’m thinking maybe a tech with an over aggressive funnel at my last oil change

Sure looks like it. The baffle was bent down and touched the cam. The cam cut all the way through. That should have been noisy.
