Check engine light on. Code P0016 (cam/crank position sensor correlation)
I have this code tripped. The car starts and runs fairly smooth. No noticeable misfiring, loss of power, ect.
Pulled the oil pan and cleaned out. There was a fair amount of oil sludge blocking off the screen. At startup I get a pretty good rattle sound when the engine turns over, wondering if maybe the chain tensioner is not working or if there is an issue with the vvt/ocv valve/filter. Is there any good way to rule out a stretched timing chain? Anything else that could cause that code to trip? Would appreciate any input before I start randomly pulling components. Thanks
