If so what did you name it. I think every car should have a name. Just because it when it make you mad you have something to call it. My Vibe's name is Scarlet. And I named the husband 01 mustang gt Sadie. I should of name his car Christine. Because when he leaves it with me nothing on it want to work. His car hates me.
Yes. Our '06 Vibe is Frosty Jake. My '04 Mazda3 HB is Virgin1.But I have to disagree with you about all cars having names. When I have chosen a name for a vehicle I have owned, its because it just came to me. The vehicle had personality that dictated the name, not the name dictating the car.My former beloved 1980 Civic was called Inga even before I bought her from my ex. She truly was an Inga and everyone knew her that way. Our friend's wouldn't ask how the "car" was, but instead, "How's Inga doing today? How did Inga do in the auto-x?"It has been my experience and opinion that cars w/enough personality name themselves and let you know. Forcing a name on your ride almost never works. I've tried it and so have friend's but it never seems to take a foothold or catch on when done that way.

We tend to keep our cars for a long time. It's the only way I know of to get the most out of them, financially speaking. And, if you get attached to one, its around that much longer for you to enjoy.

For as long as I've had my Abyss (Dec. 2006) I have YET to come up with a name. Like 06pvibe is saying, its personality has to dictate it... and my Vibe has run as smooth as the day I bought her! Something will come to me... or I will start a poll on here!

No name for mine just yet! But then there's no rush as I own my cars for a VERY long time. I've owned two pickups during my 35 years of driving. A '76 Chevy C-10 bought in '78, sold it in 92. My current pickup '92 F-150 with only 44000 miles on it! Been driving a company commercial service van for the past 15 years which keep my personal vehicles to bare minimum driving. I think I will come up with a name just to "(removed) off" the wife! What few mods I've done she thinks make the car look "gay". What does she know! We'll see ........................................
SUVish.Shortly after purchasing it we read an article that claimed it was SUV like. We jokingly called it Suvish and it stuck. Don't normally name cars unless they are really unique and most often display irritating characteristics. In those cases, the names are not always the best.Dave

I think I commented in another thread, but what the hey...My wife named my Vibe "Speedy McSpeed Wagon"...why, I don't know, but we refer to it as "Speedy".My old '99 Volvo S80 T6 was named "Sadie"...

whoa youknow my car isn't named my car yet so this thread got me thinking. Maybe I'll call it Blue Steel or Magnum like from zoolander!because my car is ridiculously, ridiculously good looking.
oh I did a search, I think my car has to be Magnum because somebody already has Blue steel. My car isn't blue so that name doesn't even work that well anyways.
Zoolander ROX! Anyways, my Vibe is officially dubbed "StayPuft" after HPL's comment in another thread...Quote, originally posted by HawaiiPontiacLover »Now I have something stuck in my head...going back to 1984*...*heck...that was even before some of you were born. *cough*09VGT*cough*
Well, the Mustang was named " BLACK *******" by my friends. Our 2006 Lancer ralliArt is named "MITSY"and apparently My vibe is now named "RUBY"Never understood naming cars but hey if it makes ya happy giv'r! HAHAHA
It may lack creativity, but the wife and I call our '08 Abyss "Vibezie 2.0". My brother named it that because his ex had an '06 Wave blue he called Vibezie and ours was a newer model and better equipped so naturally, the version update.
We have tried, sometimes unsuccessfully, to make name's "stick". My wife likes to because of fond memories of her VW bus they named Elizabus.Triumph TR4 - "the Triumph"1980 Honda Prelude - "Rose" because she was pale red.1986 Mitsubishi Mirage - "Mitzi"1993 Ford Escort wagon - "the wagon"1997 Honda Civic - "Angel" because it was white. Ended up calling it "the Civic".2001 Honda Accord - "Rhonda" because it was "our Honda". Name didn't stick.2009 Vibe - "your car" because my wife doesn't like it.When I was growing up we had a 1959 GMC with a 307 (from a Nova) and glass pack mufflers. We called that "the bomb".

Thanks for sharing all the names of your Vibes and other cars. Scarlet got her name because she can be a little sweet and sassy. So far she is a darn good car and I have had no problems with her. The hubby's car on the other had just came to me when I first looked at her. I guess because I have always wanted a horse named Sadie. And the mustang just did it for me. So I named his car Sadie.
I've named every single one of my cars, they are always girls' names. I believe that if you treat the car with the respect of a person, it will give you the same, hence no issues. You may also note many of my cars lasted over 200k miles with no problems other than regular service, plugs, dizzy caps, rotors and brakes. My husbands 88 chevy camaro is the mo-maro. my husbands nickname is Mo, so his friends started putting that in front of things. Some people call my Vibe the Vibrator... but as for a real name... not really. I've been trying to come up with something that suits it. It is accident prone though... minor accidents, luckily.
