Hello,
How do I troubleshoot front wiper problem???
Where is the relay for the wiper on the 09 Vibe?
I do not mind buying a new wiper motor I just want to be sure it is the problem???

Anyone had this problem?

Thanks..

Try this: viewtopic.php?t=39890

Most likely it's the motor or the connector. The connector is prone to get full of water and dirt and corrode. The wiper timer relay for intermittent is in the wiper switch itself.

If you want to test the switch, you can unplug the connector that goes to the switch on the steering column, then short the following pins to activate the different modes:

1 and 3 = high
2 and 3 = low
2 and 4 = intermittent

Refer to pic to see which pin is which.

If in the unlikely event the switch is bad, you can have the spare I have for the cost of postage.

Hi MacGyver,

Thanks for the reply , when the weather warms up a little I will take the arm and cover off to see the wiper motor...
See if it just the connection or the motor it self..
Can I test the plug with the volt meter to see for power in the different setting ???
That would tell me if it is the switch or the motor...

Thanks ..

Sure, you can test just about anything in a car with a decent multimeter.

Hello MacGyver ,

Finally it is warm enough and I toke the switch apart it seems to be fine..
By the way it is a easy job , now I am thinking to upgrade it to a better one..
Than I had the connections tested at the motor ...
It is most likely the wiper motor it self is the problem...
At high speed is fine , mid speed you can hear the motor struggling ...
At intermittent nothing...
