Changed Belt Tensioner, Still Rattling

Post by tjdean01 »

I changed the tensioner and the piston assembly because the bearing in the flywheel was not smooth so I was sure this was what was making the noise. I had to jack the engine up to get the bolt out and everything. Now, however, the noise is still there. Sounds like it's coming from one of the pulleys the serpentine belt is on. Alternator one, water pump one, AC one? Sounds like steel rattling. Any ideas where to look next?

Thanks a ton!

Yep. That will be your best bet to narrow down which is causing the noise.
