Replacement engine 2005 base 5 speed 1.8l

My engine overheated and is trash. What options do I have for a replacement engine? Compatible years of Vibes and Matrix's? Also I assume Corolla 1.8L would work also? Are there any issues with wiring harness/ECM?

Sorry to hear about your engine. Check out
http://www.car-part.com/ for the Engine in your area (your car has a Vin 8 FWD engine). You should be able to source a running engine close to you.
