BASE 2005 Cosmo Racing CAI Install on 1ZZ-FE with Instruction Manual Scan

Post by TarnishedSilver »

Hey all, thanks for allowing me to join this awesome community. I am just taking some pictures of my Cosmo Racing CAI install. Currently waiting for UPS to get here so I'll update as I go along. So far I have taken off the stock intake setup.

now looking into the stock air-box I noticed that there is this honeycomb in the top part. Do you think removal of this would be good for a "ghetto intake" or at least improve the performance of the stock one?

Since I couldn't find it anywhere here is the instruction manual.

First off, Welcome to GenVibe :D Secondly do NOT remove the screen which is a safety for catching any potential large debris from entering the engine. You never see it anyways so leave it be. Third, give your engine bay an well needed bath :o

Thanks! This thing was such a pain in the (removed) to install. I learned to install short tube first, finagle the whole assembly in while attempting to wrestle it on to the vibration dampener. holy crap that took it out of me! Anywho, Here is the final result. The idle is a bit low but I need to let it learn from what I am reading?

Thank you so much! Now that she's getting old she will eventually turn into a project car. Before the CAI install the air filter wasnt changed for about 4 years! so up next may be the DC-Sport 4-2-1 header.
