2003 Vibe GT Replacement Engine

Post by gaconn »

I have a 2003 Pontiac Vibe GT and the engine needs replacement. It needs a 2ZZGE engine and I have found a wrecked 2006 Pontiac Vibe GT?

Is there any difference between the 2003 2ZZGE and the 2006 2ZZGE? Thanks.

http://www.car-part.com shows that all 2ZZ engines from 03-06 are interchangeable, Vibe and Matrix. There are several 06 motors on the website when you do a nationwide search. They use the Hollander Interchange manual that all salvage yards use. The main differences were in the ECU related to the lift points I believe. But I'm sure someone else on here can confirm, or check with www.monkeywrenchracing.com as they know a lot about these motors.

Good luck!

TRB has it right and you can add Corolla XRS to the list of donors cars. The exhaust header would be different on the 04+ because of the smog pump I believe. You should just use the one off your engine.

I appreciate the responses. I spoke with monkey wrench and they said that apart from air-induction that the 2006 would fit in a 2003 GT vehicle.
