Exhaust Upgrade

Post by Dairgo »

Finally got into the shop to have the new Magna Flow setup put on.

Full replacement from the exhaust header back, except for one pipe. New exhaust sounds good, runs good, no error codes *knock on wood* and will be going back on Monday to make sure everything is all tight on the clamps. Total cost, parts and labor was just shy of $1400, thankfully did not have to replace any O2 sensors, that could have ballooned the price another few hundred.

I'm happy with the upgrade, it sounds better; and with the Dash app for android I can see that the mpg is a bit better.

Sadly no, that got covered back up by the heatshield. We can take that off in Pontiac though.

Hello, do you have the pn you used for the header and down pipe? I believe the down pipe has a cat? Does the header? I have a Magnaflow cat back that looks similar to yours except you have a resonator.

Here's the parts I purchased:

The down pipe between the header and the cat has an O2 sensor... so you can either just not use the replacement (I didn't, the replacement was hanging a few inches lower than the OEM), or you can have the shop put on a nub for mounting an O2 sensor.

Greetings everyone....I have an 03 vibe gt and I am getting the infamous cat code and was wondering if I should just get a new cat and replace or should I spend a little more and get cat back replacement??
My vibe has over 130K miles on it now....I just ordered new O2 sensors (up and downstream)
And wondering if anyone would know of a reasonably priced cat only/ cat back replacement..mine has the 2zz engine
Thx :)
