What grade fuel are you running?

Post by BIGJAMESCRU »

Hey all, I was just wondering what grade of fuel everyone was running in their Vibes new and old? I just bought an 09 GT, and I have been running 93 Octane premium. I am not sure if its good or bad, I just wanted to know your feed back, and you MPG on both.... And post those pics guys!!!!

On behalf of oil company executives everywhere I strongly advise that you continue using 93 octane gasoline.

I totally agree with you, Jake75. We have to continue pulling wool over eyes for as long as we can.

I'm using 87 octane, as I have no need to run anything greater, as my engine is not super high compression, forced induction, or particularly prone to detonation.I'd suggest reading up on how octane levels work, and perhaps you'll find that you're simply just wasting money on fuel that's not really necessary for your car.(At least as far as I can tell for the 2009 GTs. I know the 2003-06 GTs need 93 octane, but the '09s appear to just need 87).

I have to use premium. I fill up with 94 octane, doesn't last as long as when I used regular before S/C but a little more kick now.

I use 93 because I've got an 04 gt. I can actually hear it pinging if I put in 87 if I give it any gas in a higher gear. Gotta love high-comp.

I wish I could get 93 octane here in CO! But 91 seems to do ok in my '04 GT.
