These are hard to come by... any input will be appreciatedI've wondered how easy or hard it would be to find a replacement engine if I should ever need one. Wish I could help, but best of luck in finding one. Did you blow yours? If so, how, and what mileage? And hey, I grew up in Thousand Oaks. Small world. Not a very helpful world, but a small one

No kidding... a small world after all. my vibe had about 85K on it when it went. or when I killed it. advice to all- don't down shift into second when your doing about 70mph in a poor attempt to save your brakes. You will destroy your car but, thank god, your brakes will be just fine. You could call it blown

Yeah they're all the same engine, but the sportier the car, the more expensive it's gonna be. thats why i didn't list it, also figured it might be harder to find. i've only ever seen 3 lotus', 2 were on different used lots and 1 on the road. but a celica, corolla or matrix i can see any time i'm out driving, they just might not be a 2zz model
Thanks. It looks like I might have found one through car-part.com. I guess I will know for sure when I can speak to someone on monday. They are asking $2,000 for a 2zz with 58K from a matrix.
The folks at carparts.com sounded a bit shadey to me. I basically got the impression that they advertise engines like they have them in stock. When they get a buyer is when they actually begin to look for that engine. Hopeless
