I have a 2004 base.xTiaanx wrote:Which of these items are not suited for an 04 base model vibe?
Anyone have any advice on this one?Vaggeto wrote:Does anyone know why this might be so cheap and if it's too good to be true for my 03 AWD Vibe?

It's a Crank pulley for $30 shipped. Any concerns about using this?
i run an sri on my vibe as installation and maintenance is easier....and my fender plastics have holes in themmntn-biker wrote:Anyone have the install instruction sheet for the Cosmo Racing CAI? I e-mailed them direct and apparently they only have paper copies in this digital age
Anyone install the CAI on their base Vibe? Just curious how much more involved it is to install. The SRI install looks pretty straight forward but for 2hp more gain, it might be worth the extra effort on the CAI install. Just can't see from the pic on their site where/how the filter terminates. I am thinking it goes thru the fender? Anyone have any pics of their install to show this?
Are there any negatives to going with the CAI over the SRI? Seems like pulling cooler air in from outside the engine compartment would be the way to go IMO.
Thanks - Mike
I was just looking at someone's pics of doing an Injen CAI install on their Matrix. I think I will stick with the SRI thinking at this time since the install is only 20-30 minutes from the sounds of it. Also, it seems like it would be "cleaner" for the filter up in the engine compartment rather than closer to the ground in the fender well.thebarber wrote:i run an sri on my vibe as installation and maintenance is easier....and my fender plastics have holes in themmntn-biker wrote:Anyone have the install instruction sheet for the Cosmo Racing CAI? So if the TB is bored out to match the spacer, what size is the port on the intake manifold? Wouldn't boring the TB be somewhat a waste of $ since there is still the restriction once the air gets to the intake manifold opening since it is smaller (assumed) than the bored TB and spacer? Just sayin....BlueCrush wrote:If anything, you should get your throttle body bored out from http://www.maxbore.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for $100. So you can allow more air flow into the engine.
Did you go with a Magnaflow muffler or something similar and is your piping stainless? I see the Magnaflow Catback system is $526?Salsa Guy wrote:I'm not sure about the header but the catback will require welding and pipe bending unless you buy a complete catback system. My custom 2.25" Catback installed was about $250.
The header is bolt on, here is an installation guide from our dear friends at MatrixOwners: http://matrixowners.com/index.php?/topi ... ix-1zz-fe/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;mntn-biker wrote:Is the header and catback a "simple" bolt-on install or will it require a trip to the local muffler shop? My exhaust is starting to get a bit louder I have noticed so it might be time to start looking into this.
