idle relearn procedure?

Post by FatherTime »

Hopped in the car today to go have my new plugs installed and all the electrical was dead. First thing I checked was the battery connection and the clamp popped right off like it was never tightened on. It had corroded so bad there was no connection, and was probably that way overnight. I tightened it a bit, enough to get the car started, then had the mechanic install the new plugs and put on some new battery clamps. Now my idle is a tad low, can get a bit shaky. It likes to idle warmed up at 800 RPM. Now it's more like 700 RPM. I'm assuming the computer has "forgot" the idle settings. Is there a specific procedure needed to perform, or how is this accomplished?

Basically after unhooking the battery, let it sit at idle for about 10min and it will self-relearn.
