fender welting

Post by lavaman »

I am entertaining the idea of tearing my wife's neptune 05 awd apart & repainting it a light blue pearl. Can anyone tell me where I can get new welting to go between the flares & fenders/quarter panels?

Likely available from most parts stores or Amazon. Perhaps GM,

I don't think Toyota would have it, since the Matrix didn't come with cladding on the fenders.

Haven't checked with a GM dealer yet, but yesterday our parts man at work showed me a part he just checked in for a 2007 Toyota Tacoma. It's called a wheel opening extension pad. It is the exact same welting as the 1st gen vibe, only it's black. For anyone who is interested, the Toyota part number is 53853 - 04040. It's a good bit longer than the ones on the front flares, so it's plenty to do any one of them. List price is about $16. I have 4 ordered.
