I am new to this forum, but I have been a Vibe owner for the past 3 years. I love the car, but the one I have had given me a few headaches, specially the engine mounts.

Mine is a 2006 AWD, alloy wheels, leather seats, subwoofer, sunroof. I haven't seen many models like mine.

I hope to learn more about my car in this forum and looking forward for all tips and suggestions from seasoned owners.

Welcome to the best group on the internet!

The AWD with leather interior is a nice find! I have only ever seen one AWD with leather interior. What color is your Vibe? Post some pics... We are visual people.

As for tips, basically take care of the car and it'll take care of you. Biggest thing to worry about with the AWD is leaks from the rear diff (easy to replace the seals yourself to stop them), and the rear subframe rotting out. Another pain point on all is the rocker panels rotting out. If you look in the front of the rear wheel wells, there is a little "shelf" that collects all sorts of debris, and starts rusting out there. Taking off the side skirts would reveal further rust.

Make sure you take care of the rust before it gets bad. I am scrapping my 2003 Vibe GT with 280k miles on it due to rust issues.

Thanks for all replies! My Vibe is a burgundy red. Pics will follow. It is not in top shape, it was wrecked before and has a salvage title, which makes it hard to get a good resale value. During my recent searches, I've never come across another AWD with leather seats, so I think it's pretty rare.

Thanks also for the maintenance tips, I will check mine if there are any signs of rust or corrosion.

In some states, it's possible to convert a salvage title to a regular title. I know it is in Texas. the process to do so varies, of course. Most people don't bother. Usually, when you get a salvage car, resale value is the last thing on your mind :)

Couldn't agree more. You bought it at a good price knowing that it was wrecked at some point. So drive it till it's no longer repairable. This way you got your money's worth. For the Vibe, it should be several hundred thousand miles and several years! ;)
