Hi guys

I just got a 2009 Pontiac Vibe with 55,000 km on it last week.

It has the 2.4 liter and 5-speed automatic.

Tried to post a picture but it says it's too large

Only 55,000 km on a 2009? Wow! Sounds like you found a great car.

Welcome aboard!

Hi and welcome!

We definitely want to see a photo of you low km Vibe. You can re-size a picture in various photo editors. I keep forgetting what the limit is. Between 100 and 130 KB it should work.

Some 2.4 L engine suffered from excessive oil consumption. You may consider reading up on that and use only full synthetic oil and change the oil kind of frequently.

This thing should last you a long time!

Welcome to GenVibe "IMade You Read This" I would have read it no matter what !!! Just over 34000 miles ... not bad. I'm just under 30000 miles myself and still looks new (even still has a bit of "new car smell" despite stinky hockey equipment being in there). Is the body solid (no rust?). Did it have Krown or RustChek applied to it. Post pics when you figure out how to do it.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.

Just answer some of the questions it had not been rust-proofed prior to me owning it. However I've since takin care of that and had a application of krown.

I was also unlucky enough to have one of the stock decks with the broken volume button that just spins.

I replaced the deck with a single DIN pioneer that gave me Bluetooth which is nice.

I ran a few bottles of seafoam through the gas tank and switched it up to high octane gas.

I also got some Mobil 1 0w 20 synthetic in the engine now and I had a rad flush done.

I plan on dropping the pan in the spring and servicing the transmission fluid and filter.

As far as the body goes she had a few dings and a little bit of rust but for a 10 year old car she still looks good.

It's hard for me to judge the beauty of her though considering I traded in with 2017 Camaro RS for it now that was beautiful.

Again thanks for the warm welcome I'm hoping to get many years of use out of this car.

As a side note what velocity of engine oil do you guys run do you stick with the 0w 20 or 5w 20 or do you just run 5w 30 and not worry about it

Welcome to GenVibe! Great to see another 2nd gen owner join! Since you haven't gotten the picture thing figured out yet, at least tell us what color it is! The suspense is killing me!

In reference to oil, FWIW, I have used Penzoil conventional 5W-20 in both our 2009 GTs since new.

Nice. Love that color :D Based on the roof rack and wheels, you have the AWD version of the Vibe? Are you keeping the mileage low or do you rack them up?
