09 Vibe GT Serpentine Belt

Post by GT09Vibe »

i have been trying to get the serpentine belt on my 09 GT for 3 days now. Found what i thought was the idler arm but it doesn't pivot in any way. I don't know if there is a certain way of doing it bc it has electric steering and not power steering. I tried the old jam the alternator in on an angle deal but it wasn't working either. Plus a whole 1"inch of working space doesn't help either. Any help/ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks Lou

zbyers thanks for the info. I will try this evening when I get home from work. I had a socket on a nut but it was 14mm socket but every time i read something it says they used a 19mm socket. Hopefully I can figure it out.

Thanks Lou
