New owner of 2004 Vibe

Post by Gines418 »

I love this site!!!

Picked up replacement car for daughter to 01 Camry after it developed an expensive tranny problem.

Clean and solid. To-do list is putting in new radio. Kids these days need an aux and sub connections. Used the "search" here and YouTube and it looks easy enough. I'll remove the after-market hu from Camry, get a harness and antenna adaptor, and should be squared away. Reply with any advice if you'd like.

Drives nice and seats are really comfortable.

I just replaced the stock radio with a Crutchfield kit for $70. It could only have been easier with slightly better instructions on the Crutchfield trim kit, but I figured it out. Bluetooth seems standard on the cheapest radios and I've been using that feature.

If the stock radio works, you might try selling it here or on eBay. Mine was broken. It sounds common for display lights to burn out and knobs quit working.

If you don't have complete service records, consider a brake fluid flush along with the normal maintenance.

I just replaced rear shocks and the improvement in the ride is amazing.

Welcome to GeVibe Jo. From a neighboring Ohioan ;) I did the same thing for my son SEVEN years ago (but he paid half!) and he's still driving it today with ZERO maintenance issues!

New radio went in with no problems.

I have original radio (with to-do lights, but all knobs) I'll post on classifieds. Reply here if interested also.

I'll try to post pics soon. Daughter loves her Vibe!!
