Greetings everyone. My name is Scott. I own a 2009 Vibe 1.8 FWD base. I purchased new from the dealership for my son.
Alas, he did not take very good care of it. I recently took it back and have been fixing it up.
I figure this forum would be a good place to find tricks and tips to fix this car correctly.
I plan to use this car as my run around town automobile. My current project is replacing the passenger front fender liner before doing the brakes. I intend to start reading threads and posts.
Anyway, I just wanted to introduce myself.

Welcome to GenVibe Scott ;) I can REALLY relate to your story but with a slightly different twist. My son's 2009 Vibe GT (automatic) was purchased used in March 2011 where it was just a two year old car. My 2009 Vibe GT (manual 5-spd) was purchased new in May 2009. Fast forward to today he still owns it at 90k miles, still lives at home, and I (me, dad, legal owner) does ALL maintenance on it. Otherwise I'm sure it would either be in a junkyard OR held together with duct tape! Yeah ... some kids we have these days :o

Anyways we met halfway when purchasing it so it's really only 50% mine BUT for insurance purposes is titled in my name. His initial insurance FULL coverage here in Ohio was a mere $175 every 6 months. Not bad for a 17 year old at the time. Anyways fill us in on just what got neglected, current mileage, color, etc. and we'll gladly chime in to give you advice. Pictures too when you get around to it. Glad you found us.
