New Member 2005 Vibe

Post by TrickiVic »

Hello! I have lurked a bit on this forum to see what kind of repairs/issues with my vehicle that need to be addressed and what kind of performance upgrades I could do to the vehicle. So I decided to take the plunge and join.

My mom has had the car for 10 years. I received the car 2 years ago a few days after my birthday as a reward for passing my full driver's licence. It is a 2005 Pontiac Vibe AWD Whistler Blackcomb Edition and only a few hundred were made. It has about 128000km on it.

The day I got it.

Welcome to GenVibe Vic :D Canada I assume (update profile for us)? Nice mom AND the fact that you know the entire history of the car. Was this "special edition model" a Canada thing only?

Yes I am from Canada. Edmonton, Alberta specifically. From a ex co-worker he said that GM/Chevy has exclusive rights to put the Whistler Blackcomb name on their vehicles and the company had them all shipped to Ontario to be retro fitted for the Whistler area and converted to AWD. He only ever saw 2 in his life so far. Mine and a GMC Jimmy with that Whistler Blackcomb Edition badge on it.

Nice! Do you know if there are any differences between the Blackcomb and a standard?

Welcome to genvibe, fellow 2005 AWD'er!

Also curious about the special edition- besides the badge, what features does it have?

Sorry I haven't replied in awhile. I actually don't know what is the difference between this special edition and the standard version. Let me take some pictures of underneath the hood and interior and you guys can judge for yourself.

This seems interesting I to wonder what the differences are. Maybe it's like the TRD Special package that I think was only available in Canada also....

The Toyota Matrix TRD Special Edition adds many performance, comfort and styling features to the “B” option package contents of the Matrix Base FWD, such as:
Special 17” alloy wheels
Painted front disc brake callipers
A 200-watt Panasonic AM/FM/CD system with MP3 player
Rear bumper protector
Fog lamps
Power remote mirrors
Colour-keyed rear spoiler, mirrors, door handles, and side skirts
Chrome scuff plates
TRD decals, exhaust tip and interior trim accents

Nice interior. I'd prefer that over my all black interior.

Belated Welcome!
