i have a 2005 vibe base. ive done some work and still doing more by the day! love my vibe. has 291xxx miles still running strong!! thinking about buying a new motor and ticking it out then dropping it in. was actually wondering if I could put a 2zz in my vibe that has the 1zz? if anyone can help that woud be cool. btw its an auto

Welcome to GenVibe.. Glad to see you love your Vibe so much that you're willing to put a new engine in it and get another 300K miles out of it. Is the current engine internally worn out to where it will need replaced/rebuilt soon? What other things have you replaced? Owned it very long? Give us a brief history of the car and include pics also. Welcome ;)

If you do a 2zz swap ditch the auto and put a manual trans in it.

The auto's gearing is terrible for the 2ZZ powerband. It would hit lift then go 1000rpms under lift
take a few seconds hit lift etc.

And you would need a 2zz ecu.

I too have an 05 base, much lower mileage though and no mods under the hood except for the horn. Post a picture of your vibe and start a thread in the Garage. Also post your location in the signature. You might have some vibers nearby.
