Low Mileage "Beer Can" 2010 AWD Vibe Available

Post by timsdiecast »

First and foremost I'll define "beer can" by saying back in the 1980s when I sold new cars that was a term used to describe a car with no options. New car sales managers would order them for basically two reasons. They were really cheap and you could use these cars in your sale adds to get people in the dealership, and they were really cheap, and some people out there want a new car that's real cheap, and they don't care about moon roofs, aluminum wheels, power locks & windows, cruise and tilt wheel.
Any way, I stopped and looked at a 2010 AWD Vibe at a Hyundai dealer in Waterford, Michigan that had 36,000 miles on it, but unfortunately for me it had hub caps, and none of the options I listed above. They were asking $12,500.00 for it, and I offered them $10,000.00, and the sales manager told me he'd consider $12,300.00. LOL
Who knew they even made AWD Vibes like this.
If you read my post under the "Engine & Transmission" category you'll see why I'm possibly looking to buy my 6th AWD Vibe.

Private Party KBB is just under $11,000. For me, I can think of a lot better things to put my $12,000 towards than a 6 year old Vibe. If AWD is essential for you, as it probably is in Michigan, then I can see you pursuing this vehicle. For me, I don't care if it has 36,000 miles or 136,000 miles; age is bad for cars; especially in cold climates with salty roads. Nobody is going to pay the price he wants. He probably marked it up $4,000 and gave the last owner $8,500 or so for the car. I'd tell him $9,500 and not a penny more, and when he is sick of seeing it in his lot, give me a call. Good luck with your decision.

Damm greedy salespersons & dealerships  Based on that example I should be able to get EXACTLY what I paid for my 2009 Vibe GT today as what it cost me seven years ago!!! 21000 miles $14900.00

Too bad I plan on keeping it for 20-30 years
