New owner

Post by vibeinNJ »

Just picked up a 2004 Vibe base. Has 112k miles on it. Drove it home 100 miles and it rode on rails. Nice! The only thing I'm going to do with it is replace the radio (the display is faded out pretty bad) and I have to fix the passenger side body plastic molding. It's kind of hanging off.

Any ideas how to fix?

Welcome! Sounds like a decent Vibe you got there. Any pics yet that you can post? We like to see our new member's rides!

Both of your problems are things that can be fixed and there are threads on here about both subjects. The stock radio backlights tend to burn out, but they can be replaced if you can solder them in. But I can understand if you want something more modern with bluetooth or an input for your phone. The cladding is held in place with plastic fasteners and there are several people on here that have repaired their cars. You can buy them at some auto parts stores or on ebay or amazon in bulk. I need to work on my driver's door as it is loose also.

Good luck on it!

Welcome, vibeinNJ!

I will have to do the door molding myself.

I did the radio display back lights a year ago. This thread made it easy:

But one if my new bulbs went out again.
Have fun and post pictures!

Here's an attempt at adding some pictures. Somehow wound up putting 500 miles on it over the weekend. It runs actually real nice for a used car.
