New In Ontario - Vibe x 2

Post by pepper2010 »

Hello, just introducing myself.
Have 2 Vibes in the family, a 2004 1.8L white Vibe with 283,000+ km and a (new for me) 2010 2.4L red Vibe.
The older Vibe has been and great car and still going strong. So happy with the new one which is a little zippier. Dogs love the Vibe too! Looking forward to reading all the good info to be found here... thanks for that!

Welcome to the forum!

By the way, our dog made me buy a Vibe.

Welcome to GenVibe! That's great to hear that you have 2 Vibes! There are many 2+ Vibe families here, including myself (my mom and I have the 2009 Vibe GTs shown in my signature below)!

Cute dogs! We have 2 dogs and they really enjoy riding in the Vibes too. Question... the pet barrier you have, is it custom fit for a Vibe or is it universal? I have one that is just a screen type that folds up when not in use, but the dogs have beat it up pretty well over the past couple years and I am wanting to get another one, but one that is more durable like the one in your picture. Any info is greatly appreciated!

One more thing... post some pictures of your 2 Vibes when you get a chance. We love pictures around here :D!

Welcome from another 2 Vibe family! I had a red 2010 GT also, but it got crunched so I replaced it with a 2003 GT. It certainly was a lot more fun than the base 06 my son has.

Can't wait for some pics! :D

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone!
I will post pics as soon as it stops snowing here (forecast says it's gonna snow for a week) and I have a chance to get the cars clean. Yes, the dogs love the Vibe, they can jump right in and we have a bit of carpet down so they don't slide around. To answer your question, my dog barrier is a universal fit. I bought it at TSC (Country Hardware Store), I believe you have those in the States too. Cost about $75 Cdn. Took my partner a bit of fiddling to get it in but once it was in, it's been solid. The little border collie likes to stick her nose under it but that's all that can get through. Downside: it's a PITA when you have to use the back seating but that's rare for us and now with two Vibes, even more unlikely to be necessary.

Also, I am thrilled that there are other 2-Vibe families out there! Yes, I have seen some nice GTs here in the Greater Toronto Area and they are ultra special. I almost test drove one but the price tag was a bit dear for me. I am thrilled with my '10 2.4L except that it came from Quebec so all paperwork/manual are in French, lol. It came with a block heater too. The dealership has ordered me an English manual so that is good. Only think I miss from the 2004 Vibe is the Overdrive on/off button...that was handy in winter. Oh, and the sun roof and fog lights (yes, I've read that thread on fogs already). My partner will now be enjoying those little perks.

There are tonnes of Vibes here in the GTA, I see them everywhere! And that's a good feeling!

Welcome to GenVibe. Another TWO Vibe GT family here. These cars are the best for pups! Dogs love them, lots of visibility, and us owners love them also. Don't get up your way much anymore but when I played in hockey tournaments we played at Warren park, and loved breakfast at the Dundas street grille. Visit often :D

2 Vibes. Seems more common that one would expect! We were a 2 Vibe family for almost 5 years, but my son's 2005 got traded for a Ford Fiesta. Nice little car, but he and his dog really miss the room! And he definitely notices that roominess every time he rides in mine.

Amazing how durable these cars continue to be. Welcome to the Vibe tribe.

Posting some mid-winter pics with the semi-clean Vibes.
My new red 2010 Vibe now has 52,885 kilometers (32861 miles). The 2004 white Vibe I think is sitting around 285,000 km (177,090 miles), I haven't looked at the miles for awhile because my partner is driving it. Forgot to mention that my father and sister, also in Ontario, also drive 2009 Vibes, one's silver AWD and one's slate blue. As you can tell, we all love this car.

Nice looking Vibes Pepper! Thanks for posting pictures of them!

I agree with tpollauf, get your relatives to join us or at least post some pictures of their Vibes. Silver (Liquid Platinum Metallic) and Slate Blue (Steel Blue Metallic) are excellent color choices if I do say so myself (see my signature below) :D!
