new AWD Vibe owner

Post by AWvibeDrive »

HI all
bought a 2003 vibe w/127,000 for $3700 with a rebuilt title (fender was wrecked) from a garage that did the body work
it had a couple of issues(whoever had it before me took terrible care of it)
but I think i got most of the kinks worked out
changed all the fluids and the transmission filter
replaced the lower grill covers that were missing
used some meguiar's on the headlights liked the results
replaced the VVT filter
replaced the belt tensioner (about a $100) :( that i stripped moving the alternator getting access to the vvt filter **move it a little, give it a sec to release pressure then repeat as needed**
repaired the leak in the washer fluid tank with a kit
replaced the filter for the SRI with a dryflow, tightened the joints on the tube and checked for vacuum leaks with carb cleaner
cleaned the MAF sensor
replaced the upstream O2 sensor
-the last 3 issues had my LTFT at 32.4 as of this posting i haven't rechecked yet
new wiper blades
replaced the coupling carrier bearings in the rear diff
replaced one of the output seals on the rear diff

still want to fix the chain tensioner oil leak / front rotors seem warped a little / clean the sludge out from under the valve cover and in oil pan and some of the speakers don't work

Welcome to GenVibe! Looks like you've done a lot to turn this Vibe back to glory. I've heard several owners say things about the leaky timing seal, rotors are easy to replace, and speakers may just be blown. Take care of that Vibe and it will pay you back with miles and miles of service!

Welcome to GenVibe! That's a very sharp 1st gen Neptune AWD Vibe you've got there! Kudos for posting a picture right away ;)! It's great to hear that you started out getting the Vibe back in tip top shape after it had been neglected for so long. Here's to many more years and miles of service!

Well, welcome to Texas then! I know we have several San Antonio members on here, so maybe you could look them up for a Vibe mini meet!
