Suspension Vibe vs Matrix & GM parts support

Post by plusforce »

Hi all,
I know many experts are in this forum,
I bought a Vibe/base 2005 two years ago, up to now I did some minor things for my vibe . Tranny oil change, PCV valve, spark plugs.

So I know my engine 1zz-fe and tranny A246e are exactly the same as matrix base 2003-2008.

I think I need to change my Sway Bar links. Can anyone one confirm if I go to Toyota dealer and ask for a pair of Sway Bar Link for a Matrix 2005 base
it will be exactly the same as mine ?

I changed one inner fender (plastic dust cover above tire) at first I bought one from toyota dealer . It was about the same but at the end some holes were not
exactly the same and I could not put it on my car.

About the Engine and Transmission I am 100% sure since I have bought parts from Toyota dealer but could someone confirm this thing about suspension ?
Sway bar link? or CV joints? Control arms or struts ? or rear shock absorbers .

since prices at Toyota are cheaper than GM I prefer go to Toyota vs GM.

Also anyone knows how long GM will produce OEM parts for vibe ?

Suspension parts are all the same. Some weird parts are different, such as some parts of the HVAC, the stereo harness, and most exterior parts.

What he said!

Mechanically the vibe and matrix are the same... Bodies are obviously different, so exteriors aren't as easily interchanged
