New Vibe Owner~ 09' 2.4L AWD~150k

Post by Swagner »

Hello to the Genvibe community! It feels wonderful to be able to take part in such a wonderful space on the internet, I love how this forums has brought everyone together. My name is Sean, I like to bike, hike, camping, backpacking...all that fun stuff, I live in Ontario, Canada and plan on moving to Alberta next year. I recently purchased a White 2009 Vibe 2.4L AWD. For $7500 With 150k on it. It was a single owner, carfax report was perfect, a few scratches here and there on the exterior.

So far I love it, It feels like I am driving a more expensive vehicle :D I just brought her home on the 27th and I cannot wait to take her out tomorrow! Only issue so far I have noticed myself is a sort of rubbing noise that seems to be coming from my tires when i make full turns. ( I'm pretty sure I read something about this on another forum post)
Any questions Feel free to ask :D

Take care now bye bye then!

It is very likely that the rubbing noise is because one of your inner or outer CV boots have a crack and the grease has leaked out. Crawl under and look at the black boots to see if you see any grease, or if there is grease "splashed up" into your wheel well. Otherwise, check the obvious; make sure the plastic wheel well liner has not become detached and is rubbing on the tires when turned.

Hi Welcome.

Your Vibe is not one of the unfortunate, excessive oil use ones is it? (I hope not)

Nice, that's the AWD twin of mine! Great price and the AWD must be nice up there.

Welcome to GenVibe :D It's amazing how more 2009-10 Canadian Vibes had the roof racks on when built. I hardly ever see any here in the states. Maybe it's so you guys can throw your "road kill" up there when you hit it  You'll fit right in here at GenVibe. Visit often!

All AWD 2nd gens came with roof racks. They sold a lot more AWDs up north, so you see them a lot!

Probably disappointing, it has the weight of AWD and the 2.4 which is not a high fuel mileage engine to begin with.

Congrats on the purchase and welcome to the site! I am always jealous when I see a nice clean white Vibe. But I had two white cars immediately before and wanted something different, and couldn't get a blue one.
