2004 Changes

Post by billabong_star »

Can anyone list the changes from 03' to 04'? I know that the lower rocker paneling on the two-tones is one, and something about wiper blades?

Well a nice change is the guages, the numbers light up white now so they are much more visable at day and at night.

Then it wasn't an 04 model.

It was brand new 04' ... Numbers in dash cluster were red. Is when the lights are on they light up white? Or are they always white lights on or not?

Check the VIN, and the top of the window sticker. Window sticker will say 2003 or 2004. The VIN will have 3Z before the last 6 digits if it is a 2003 model, and 4Z in the same position if it is a 2004.

I just returned a 2004 rental that I had for 2 weeks. My 2003 was in a collision and was in the body shop with over $6k worth of damage. Long sad story, but not pertinent to the topic. I thought the new white and red cluster was far superior to the 2003 all red. I really miss it. I also noticed that the Twilight sensor for the headlights actually worked. The lights came on at dusk instead of noon. I miss that also. Now this is purely subjective, but I'd swear the suspension was a little less taut. Seemed more relaxed over sharp bumps. Wished I had the schematic or a part number for the new Twilight sensor set-up so I could modify mine.

There's allegedly a TSB coming out to replace the sensor in the 03 models with the 04 version...
