new girl first pontiac vibe

Post by alisha »

Hi i just bought a 2003 vibe yesterday from a junkyard with a tiny lot out front.
I bought this car after searching for about 3 weeks everywhere within 3 states to find a matrix or vibe my
Father inlaw found this one in excellent shape interior is a 8/10 the body is the same it is just in need of a good bath
and some wax and it will look brand new for only 2500. The lot owner said the last owner was a older lady who had
passed away and it had been setting for a year till the estate was settled and had only been out front.
I had to replace my 03 matrix which was impossible with the prices people were asking for them even the vibes were crazy prices for there miles and condition but it is all good now i got a new ride and i have my matrix yet with a lot of parts to switch if i need them my matrix engine only had 75,000 on it when a guy hit it and tottaled her along with hitting my father inlaws 04matrix but his is fixed up and cruiseing again the only thing i can find wrong with the new car is ac needs charged and the blower fan sounds loud like it may have a piece of paper stuck in a vent

Welcome to Gen Vibe Alisha! Ask your f.i.l. to find me a $2500 Vibe. LOL. Seriously, that is a great price. How many miles, Base or GT, what part of the country, pictures? I think you will find this a very helpful group.

Welcome to GenVibe Alisha! Sounds like you got an awesome deal on your "new" Vibe! 204,000 miles is barely broken in :P! Looking forward to seeing pictures once it's all nice and clean!

Welcome Alisha! Awesome deal!!! Seriously! And as vibenvy said - 204,000 miles is nothing to a Vibe. :) Just a couple hours ago today I was at a dealership (at the service dept but talking with a sales man) and pointed to an employee car, telling the salesman to get the employee to trade their car in so I could buy it. The salesman said "oh, that thing's got 240,000 miles on it!" My response: "So?" He just laughed and said "Yeah... that guy drives that car two hours each way every day. He loves it." Exactly. :)

200,000 miles in 10 years - that little old lady's church must have been a long ways away. It may be worth taking a chance at only $2,500 but not many engines with 200,000 miles will go much longer without major issues.

Maybe you should have kept the Matrix 75,000 mile motor for a spare. ;-)

Welcome to GenVibe and an awesome find! Glad you were able to keep the Matrix for parts as you may need some of them as the years go by. These little cars are almost indestructible ... unless SOMEBODY ELSE hits you :(
