I'm still not convinced these VIN decoder websites are all that accurate. Last time someone posted one on here, it said there were three matches to my option list (which happens to be an '05 90U AWD); I knew that was B.S. based upon seeing more than three Gray Metallic AWD's between Maryland, Pennsylvania and Washington. Now I run my VIN, sort via options and it returns fifty similar models. While that's better than the previous results, I just can't believe that there are only 49 AWD 90U Vibes like mine...

Well, the thing is is that not every Vibe that's the same color as yours has the exact same options. For example, my silver 2009 Vibe GT: according to CompNine, there are 7 other silver 2009 Vibe GTs with the exact same options as mine. This means that while I may see quite a few other silver 2009 Vibe GTs, they may not have the Theft-Deterrent System as mine does, or they may be a manual transmission whereas mine's an automatic, but somewhere out there there are 7 other silver 2009 GTs that have the Theft-Deterrent System, are automatic, etc. just like mine. There's alot more then exterior appearance i.e. color, wheels, etc. that goes into a vehicle .

While that's true for the base and GT models, the 1st gen AWD's all came w/the same options (A/T, Moon & Tune, 16" wheels, etc.), short of traction control and leather (which I'm not even sure you could get on the AWD's); the only differentiation from one AWD to the next was the exterior color. To put it another way, the AWD's came pretty much loaded, so it came down to color choice when buying one. And being as the 90U color code was one of the three most common paint schemes, I'm still not buying the accuracy of their database.

I'm not too familiar with the 1st gen Vibes, so thanks for that info . That does make sense then.

Yeah, it's not always exact with everything, but it's close enough to be interesting at least. Here's what it says regarding the color of my Vibe:

Don't know if this was the same decoder link posted here on GenVibe a couple years ago or not BUT it will not change the "match" quantity when I switch optional equipment from the left column to the right. Thus this program is not showing me the true "rarity" of my Vibe. I do remember doing this a couple years ago and it was interesting to see the results. Since mine is the GT and has a manual transmission, it is one of the rarest 09 Vibes out there
