Hey everyone,My wife and I just purchased an 09 Vibe. We traded in her 05 tC, we needed something bigger for the addition of our first "small one". Im happy so far that the drivetrain is almost identical to the Scion.A little about the Vibe:Its an 09 w/ 30k miles, not a GT but has alot of options, has the 2.4L, 17" alloys, roof racks, foldable passenger seat, grocery bag cargo area, came with a cargo cover, 4 wheel ABS disc brakes, fog lights, XM satellite radio (maybe this isnt an option?) and the slap shift automatic (which is not very responsive) it is blue metallic. So far so good, I changed the engine air filter and in-cabin this weekend.-Mike
Welcome Mike YES ,,, we need pics ASAP of your new ride There's no comparison to the Scion and you won't regret making this smart move. From one '09 owner to another ...................... Welcome
Thanks for the welcome. Ill try to get some pics up tonight. tpoll, youre right about the comparison, the vibe rides SOOO much better. That Scion had so many dash and hatch rattles from day one, its like they put empty cans with marbles in them buried in the dash somewhere.

Well we are in the overdeveloped section. We live right off 198 where the Walmart is, us and about 25000 other people!
Welcome! Nice looking car! I think that is the first Vibe with a roof rack that I have seen that was not 4wd.Is that really steel blue metallic? Looks way too dark - maybe cuz it's in the shade?

thanks for all the positive responses. Im pretty sure its steel blue metallic. J_TO_ENVY Im getting to old for mods, I like that it came with 17" alloys. The only thing in the future will be a K&N drop in, very light tint and probably a trailer hitch to carry the bike rack I have. For the most part I spend my time maintaining the cars I own. My car is a 97 Intrepid I spend more time modding that, but then im not scared to break it.

You will have fun learning from all the other members with their Vibe experiences, maintenance, repairs, car problems, DIY, and customizing. I for one check in two to three times a day. I also would like you to know that you have the exact same 2009 Vibe that I have with the roof rack and fog lights, except that I have it in Silver. If you want a less shocking ride, try keeping the front tires at 35 psi and the rear tires at 32 psi. Though you and I do not have an AWD model, The AWD model calls for that tire pressure. I feel it is much better then the 32/32 psi as is called for. One more thing, DO NOT push on push off your radio power switch/volume. Leave it on but turn the volume down if you want. Else one of these days you may find a broken radio Knob. Good luck with your Vibe!

I would have to say the car is running Goodyear GSAs which I personally think are garbage. They do have some tread left but I would like to change them out...have to wait till next year. Ill tell the wife about the radio I just did some work on it last night; tightened up the rear view mirror, removed the crappy looking dealer decal on the hatch and I also rebalanced the tires. The car had a shimmy at 60-65 mph, I knew it was the tires, the dealership claimed they had balanced them. Well, they were balanced but were done incorrectly. It seems like they static balanced the tires, left the stick on weights on the inside of the rim and only changed the clip on the inner lip. 3 of the 4 tires were out more than 1 oz!!! Youll feel that.
I have had my '09 Vibe GT since 14 JAN 2011. She had under 18K when my wife and I picked her up at the dealer, a little under 7K since (just over 2K on a roadtrip from Ill to Mass).Great car!!! We are very happy that the dealer with whom we'd been working after I got T-boned just before Christmas suggested a vehicle that had not been within our range of consideration.25K scheduled maintenance at the dealer coming up week end after next...(BTW, my wife and I are both on the shady side of 50)
