Already had three as I drove my Vibe down to Cape Canaveral Florida to visit my 84 year old dad! :D . 32.2, 34.3, and 35.5 were my nice numbers so far. I'm commuting back & forth to Orlando now than I'm down here for trustee training. I'll update again in a few days
I'm so jealous that you're in Cape Canaveral Tim! We used to vacation at Surf Studio on A1A in Cocoa Beach. Love that whole area!

I have been checking my mileage since I purchased mine used last year. It consistently averages 27mpg 50/50 mixed driving. Sometimes it will get 30 mpg on a run that is purely highway, I always drive 75 with cruise engaged that equates to 3400 rpm with the 6sp and my tire combo 215/45/18. In every day driving 27 is the number, its never shifted below 4500 and usually see's lift for 3 gears more than once in my 20 mile commute. :o

36.5 MPG on the last tank, not too shabby! 8-) It was mostly highway with little traffic.

I got 28mpg from my last tank. Pretty impressive considering I've been running with the A/C on a lot lately

OK. I'm finally posting a snapshot of my all time mileage. At just under 24k miles this baby is just getting broken in. Very impressive mileage numbers for the 2.4L engine :D

Awesome number Tim! My all time average is just over 28 and my mom's is just over 27. Not bad either considering ours are autos. I can't wait to see what I can get going to and from Nashville!

I recent got an iphone and signed up for Fuelly. So now its in my signature. Still have to work out how to guess the city/highway percentage accurately or maybe I'll just disable it

I typically just go with 50/50 driving unless I obviously do more city or highway driving. It's not an exact science, so it's not super important.

06.30.16 – 68,670 – 307.6 - 8.729 - $2.36 – 35.329 – 10% <-- #3 highest all time MPG

All Time = Fillups: 208 | Miles: 56,448.8 | Gallons: 2006.165 | Avg. MPG: 28.138 | Cost: $6220.03

The first fillup was my usual 50/50 driving around home.

The second fillup was 100% highway on the way down to Nashville. I had the cruise control set at 60 MPH the whole way (speed limit was 65-70). I hardly ever had to touch the gas or brake pedals. I did not use the air conditioning. I wanted to prove that you can get awesome gas mileage out of a 2nd gen (2009-2010) 2.4L 5-speed auto Vibe! I couldn't believe it when I did the math after filling up :D!

Doing a lot of slower and stop-and-go driving around Nashville caused my number to tank (pun intended :P!) for the third fillup.

The fourth fillup was again 100% highway, this time setting the cruise control at 65 MPH. Again, hardly ever having to touch the gas or brake pedals and not using the air conditiong.

The fifth and final fillup was 90% highway. Cruise was set at 65 MPH until I got off onto a more "country" road going through small towns where I dropped it down to 60 MPH when I could. Using the gas and brake more, but still never using the air conditioning.

The entire cargo area of my Vibe was pretty filled. Nothing too heavy, but still pretty full nonetheless. I had slightly less weight on the way home after getting rid of some spare parts.

Here are the final numbers for the Nashville trip:

Total miles: 1137.6
Total gallons: 31.521
Avg. MPG: 36.090

I'm getting about 24-25mpg (A/T, mixed city/hwy) with the Yakima roof rack and roof rack on my 03. The rack's cross bars are extra wide (I hit my head on it sometimes, ouch!) but I like them that way, since I'd like to add a kayak carrier some day. That will probably further kill my MPG, but oh well.

I'd say I get about 25-27 depending on the day (go through about a tank a day) It's mostly highway miles but it's AWD with steel wheels. I can for sure get 300 miles before the light comes on if it's 100% highway cruise control

Do the steel wheels really make that much of a difference? Beyond a fraction of 1mpg, I mean. I have them on mine.

In the case of some of us 2009-10 GT owners ... YES. When we put on our winter 16" tires they are a noticeable smoother ride due to more tire sidewall which adds cush to the ride. This also adds resistance which has to be overcome with more fuel. Our original 18" are a lower profile, less resistance, and net better fuel economy. It is barely a difference BUT every little bit helps :)

Like you said it's about a 1-2mpg difference, not a big difference(but for someone who drives 200+ miles a day it adds up). The car came with low profile tires and chrome clad alloy wheels which is a decent difference in weight. I keep the tires at 42 front and 37 back, the car recommends 37 and 32 respectively. So it's not a "smooth ride" but it also helps with MPG to offset the extra weight.

I meant a 1/4 of 1 mpg or something, not 1-2. Hm, I should check my tire pressures again. It's been a while. Plus I just had them rotated.

I'll probably run my front and rear at higher PSI when I hit the road next month. I'm going to have the Yakima roof box loaded with lighter weight camping gear and a 36" folded dog crate, plus this installed in the hitch and packed full. It's almost as wide as the car, but not quite.

Well this is not really related to the Vibe BUT my Silverado truck. Seeing how I was towing a Vibe I feel that qualifies me to post numbers here. Round trip was 1086 miles. Got just over 20mpg from Toledo to NJ. On the way back towing the Vibe got 16.5 to 17mpg which is pretty damm good if you ask me :D Cruised a steady 75mph on the way out and slowed down a bit to 65mph on the way back. These newer trucks ride so smooth & quiet that for a while there I forgot I was even towing anything ;)
